Happy Hygge and Happy Anniversary

We’re thankful for our long, cold winters in Grand Marais because it gives us another reason to celebrate.

In Cook County we embrace hygge just like the Danish people do. Hygge, prononunced  hoo-gah actually comes from a Norwegian word meaning “well-being.”  At Voyageur Brewing Company we strive to create a warm atmosphere where people can unwind and enjoy their friends and family. We encourage folks to get outside and afterwards visit Voyageur to relax, enjoy a beverage and connect with others to gain a sense of community. While we tend to celebrate hygge all year long at Voyageur Cook County has set aside February 9-15th to really focus on hygge.

There are special activities happening during the entire event and what makes it even more fun is we’re celebrating our 3rd Anniversary at Voyageur.

On Thursday we have our Canteen Club Kick-Off party with live music from 5:30-8:30pm for our members.  If you’re not a member yet there is still time to join and receive all of the great benefits.

We’ve infused some of our beers for the special occasion so be sure to try our Whiskey Stout, Red Velvet Red Sash, Cherry Porter and Hibiscus Trailbreaker.

Friday we’ll have music by Timmy Haus from 4-7pm, a pop-up shop from 4-7pm and wooden button carving($10) from 5-7pm.

We’ll exchange knitting needles for mukluks or whatever boots will be best for dancing to the music of Plucked Up String Band during the Mukluk Ball from 5pm-8pm.

On Sunday we invite folks to come for a picture and a pint from 2-4pm or drop in felting($8) from 4-6pm.
