Voyageur Brewing Company in conjunction with SkyVault Theatre proudly announces a weekend of Shakespeare-themed events in celebration of National Shakespeare Week.
Events will take place March 23rd – 25th, 2017 in Grand Marais, Minnesota. Thursday night from 6:00-9:00pm local Cook County residents and Shakespeare aficionados Kurt Anderson and Ann Mershon will provide an evening of entertainment everyone is sure to enjoy. There’s no need to know your Shakespeare just show up and be ready for fun games and readings in the taproom.
The fun continues on Friday when the Rochester-based SkyVault Theatre arrives from 7:00-10:00pm. Dressed in time period costumes the actors will mingle, play music & perform Shakespeare inspired interactive skits.
On Saturday afternoon inspiring actors or Shakespeare buffs ages 6-14 are invited to a hands-on creation and exploration workshop beginning at 1:30pm, followed by a brief performance at 2:45pm.
Folks who pre-register can attend a Saturday night performance of “On the Road to Verona” by the SkyVault Theatre Company players. The show, which is an audience-interactive and immersive experience, includes SkyVault’s original, Shakespeare-inspired songs and script. The show debuted at the 2016 Minnesota Fringe Festival where it was reviewed by Twin Cities theatre-goers among the best of the 168 shows at the festival. The performance will be followed by more audience interactive skits and music.
