This weekend of July 9th and 10th is the Grand Marais Art Festival, and artists and observers are free to make, discover, consume and display art. It is a wonderful opportunity to focus on the marvels of nature, and our human ability to reflect them.
In the studio of our brewery, our brewers are producing and refining flagship and seasonal beers, including our newest American Pale Ale, American Point, and upcoming ALS fundraiser beer, a grapefruit-infused ale. Our clever chefs are wrapping egg rolls and composing picnic boards and arranging cilantro and limes for your pleasure. In addition to the wonderful live music you can expect every weekend, we are hosting a painting class in the brewery on Saturday afternoon from 1 to 3:30. The class is $35 and includes a free beer. Painters may choose a camping scene at twilight or iconic lake scene with stars. Register quickly because if we don’t get a few more people signed up we will sadly have to cancel the class and I’ll have to get my dad something else for his birthday. Seize the day, friends!
About that music, Friday night we have Tim Haus, a local legend, and the incomparable Jim and Michelle Miller on Saturday night. Come have a beer and listen to these talented warblers. The weather is going to be stupendous.
