Someone wrote to me and asked if we were going to be open on Labor Day. I forwarded the query to my partners. Really? In a resort town on one of the busiest holidays of the year? What was I thinking? It is absolutely perfect now — the dragonflies have eaten all the mosquitoes, you can slip on cozy clothes over your tan skin in the evening, and the famous Hjordis drifts by as you savor a quiet moment “downtown.” Whether you’re visiting or live and work here year round, we invite you to sit down for a moment before the scenery completely changes. What is the best beverage to enjoy after labor? Of course, beer. No one is working harder than our Voyageur crew to bring you a cold one or some tasty food, as you take a well-deserved breath and gaze at the big, soul-cleansing lake.
Speaking of labor and one of the hardest working people in the beer business, you can meet our affable brewer Jason Baumgarth on Friday, September 2nd at Papa Charlie’s in Lutsen from 4 to 7. Treat yourself to a Voyageur beer and some of the best northern company you can imagine, and then stop into our taproom for some more.
