DESCRIPTION:Voyageur Brewing Company is happy to host the Northwoods Volunteer Connection’s open house during National Volunteer Week! \n5:00pm – 6:00pm Open house\n6:00pm – 7:00pm Featured speaker – John Storkamp\n7:30pm – 8:30pm Superior Hiking Trail Volunteer Training \nVolunteers play an important role in caring for public lands in northeastern Minnesota. Local hiking\, biking\, ATV\, snowmobile and ski trails make the region a destination for outdoor recreation and the work of forest volunteers helps keep these trails open for use. Join us for an open house to visit with local groups about their upcoming volunteer events and learn how you can get involved. \nPARTICIPATING GROUPS INCLUDE:\n-Kekekabic Trail Club\n-Superior Cycling Association\n-Superior …Hiking Trail Association\n-USFS Superior National Forest\nMore to be announced!\nThese groups will have tables with information and representatives available to answer questions. \nVolunteers working on the Superior Hiking Trail are required to attend a training in maintenance standards and tool use. This training will take place from 7:30 – 8:30 pm and is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about the volunteering on the SHT. \nSnacks will be provided\, beverages will be available for purchase. \n\n\nFor more information please visit the group’s Facebook event and page.
