See you there! \nCooper & Muska are an eclectic two-piece duo from Superior\, Wisconsin comprised of guitarist Nick Muska and violinist Lauren Cooper. The group focuses on pushing the expectations of what two musicians can create together both vocally and instrumentally. Alternately soulful\, bluesy\, and roots-based\, Cooper & Muska showcase their own original music while also performing unique renditions of songs from artists both past and present. It’s a one-of-a-kind show you won’t want to miss.

SUMMARY:Live Music: Matt Griswold
DESCRIPTION:Live Music\, craft beer\, tasty appetizers and a view of Lake Superior in Grand Marais\, Minnesota.\nMinnesota based Folk-Rock singer/songwriter and active musicologist\, Matthew Griswold\, is currently playing hundreds of his modern day minstrel-like shows each year. Though a “solo” performer in trade title\, he carries a chorus of layered guitars and an array of dynamic vocal themes. Those elements are all then supported by a boot strapped foot stomping on a cigar box foot drum keeping a sacred element to the music. \nGriswold’s performances are rugged\, haunting\, howling\, bone-shaking affairs where all of the grit and soul of a man who has seen the war torn battlefields of Iraq\, yet still sought hope after the worst of it’s tragedies\, are brought forth through one voice and one guitar. He confidently leaves his crowds cradled in subtleties\, but rocked with an undeniable presence. Those who witness him live\, will experience a musician who inhabits\, and is inhabited by\, his music as if it were a spiritual transformation allowing him to become a fearless poet calling out through a cadence and dancing in the dragon’s den. \nHe has crafted an arrangement style of his own (“Hypno-tonic Grooves”)\, which he employs to reinvent classics\, adapt traditional standards\, and plug original work that stand in tribute to their deep lineage. With a well-honed talent\, ego-less work ethic\, and applied insights of ethnomusicology tilting the odds in his favor\, Griswold has become one of the country’s most active independent working musicians. He has over ten years of strategic millage marked by thousands of live performances and hundreds of intriguing press features. Just barely in his 30s\, he continues to build a dense catalog of works to be preserved by those he  proudly refers to as “Witnesses of a Fellowship”. \nGriswold has gained both industry notoriety and scholar respect as a Contemporary Folk music maker\, and while having had many of his original songs and compositions used in various films\, TV shows and commercials around the world through an elite contract with Universal Music Publishing\, no matter where you find footing\, you’re never far from someone who has likely been spellbound by the sounds that flow beside the howling edge of his hopeful hymns.

Lacie is 6-time East Texas fiddler of the year as well as 2015 ETX Bluegrass Music Act of the Year.  She brings a lively fiddle and big smile to the stage!

While they\ntypically perform as a three-piece electric blues/rock band\, they are\nalso capable of playing acoustic style shows (sans drums\, hand\npercussion instead). They played at Summer Camp Music\nFestival (in their home state of Illinois) for the 8th year in a row\n(fifth year as the VIP house band) where they performed five sets\nover the course of four days. \nThey have shared the stage with a number of\nnotable players including Ike Willis and Ray White (Frank Zappa)\,\nVictor and Reggie Wooten\, Vinnie Amico (MOE)\, Jason Hahn (EOTO)\,\nHerman Greene and Terry Saffold (Stax Records)\, Roosevelt Collier\n(Lee Boys)\, among others. They have opened up for artists like JGB\,\nMarshall Tucker Band\, Keller Williams\, Nth Power\, and Tim Reynolds\,\nand The Schwag\, just to name a few.

Before becoming a solo artist in her own right\, Nickolay performed around Northern Minnesota in various bands with family and friends. After a spending two years in Northern Ireland she has returned to her North Shore roots to continue writing and performing her music. A voice laced with both smoke and silk\, at turns clear and full of gravel\, Nickolay infuses lyric and melody with a style that unites traditional and past tunes with current music. Her sound comes out of a depth of musical genres; including Traditional Irish\, Appalachian\, Blues\, Folk\, Indie\, Country\, and even and little Rock n’ Roll. Every song she delivers she does so with honest emotion and a contagious passion for the sheer joy of making music. Nickolay is currently playing live in local venues in the Cook County area.
