DESCRIPTION:Mumblin’ Drew snakes between both the traditional and the contemporary sounds of American folk music.  Whether it’s old time\, country blues\, or modern folk sounds with minor chords and a midwest moan\, he puts his heart in to his process\, utilizing banjo\, resonator guitar\, and harmonica.  From the simple to the sophisticated\, Mumblin’ has spent years playing on street corners around the country\, which has instilled a genuine approach in his performance.\n​\nHaving released several recordings over the past decade with various projects\, from string band\, to punk-infused folk with eastern European colorings\, and even hip hop\, Mumblin’ Drew pushes full steam ahead with something uniquely his own.  He’s absorbed the earnest stylings of many Minnesotan musicians\, from the elders who have come before him\, to obscure acoustic punk bands at basement performances in his younger years.  Holding down an ongoing weekly residency in the West Bank neighborhood of Minneapolis at the storied Palmer’s Bar\, he’s trying to keep the legacy of the once thriving folk scene of the neighborhood alive and breathing in to the next generation.  Like any enduring folk musician\, his music has taken him to festivals\, bars\, boats\, and rivers\, from coast to coast\, but he always calls Minnesota home.

DESCRIPTION:Listen to live music at Voyageur Brewing Company from 5-8pm! Matt Browne grew up using music to escape the realities of his childhood cancer. At age 5\, Browne was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Following his diagnosis\, he went through years of treatments and procedures including chemotherapy. Forty-five miles separated his hometown and the Rochester Mayo Clinic. Traveling to daily doctor visits lended the time to listen to his favorite childhood musical artists\, including Alan Jackson\, George Strait\, and Garth Brooks. Listening spiraled into a passion for memorizing songs and imitating his favorite performers. His love for music continued to grow well beyond his childhood. \nOver the past several years Browne has performed across the upper-midwest\, sharing his organic sound with a wide variety of listeners. His unique blend of country-Americana-pop has caught the attention of major networks and music outlets\, most notably NBC’s award-winning television show “The Voice”. Over time\, his ongoing craft and development as a musician has lead to the release of original music. His debut EP titled “Finding My Way” was released in 2018\, followed by the release of a new single “Northern Nights” in December of 2019. Matt Browne’s homegrown\, original music can be found on download and streaming services including iTunes\, Apple Music\, Amazon Music\, and Spotify.
