DESCRIPTION:This second annual running of Le Grand du Nord will be something very special. Le Grand represents one of the most amazing gravel courses in the US. Starting out of Grand Marais\, Minnesota’s spectacular harbor the route climbs to a breathtaking view of the US/Canadian border. With almost 6000 ft of climbing\, it is the punchiest route of the three Heck Production events. But I want Le Grand du Nord to be more than just amazing gravel riding. So we will have Voyageur Brewing Company host and provide their exceptional craft beer on Friday and Saturday. After the ride on Saturday\, join us for live music at Voyageur Brewing. And this amazing small town will be a great place to bring the family. Don’t forget\, Grand Marais will have artwork\, shopping and general site seeing throughout the weekend. It’s one of the prettiest spots on earth…and will play host to a great weekend of gravel cycling. \nWe will offer a 100 mile course as well as a 50 miler. Both will have one halfway checkpoint each. Both will run on the Heck principles of cue card navigation\, self-supported riding ethics and physically challenging courses. All will be exceptionally beautiful. The aspens will be in full lime-green splendor\, the insects at a minimum (usually!) and woods waking up to a new Spring. \nOur goal with Le Grand du Nord is to take all that we love about gravel cycling and bring it together for one special weekend. Amazing routes\, great beer and food\, and time spent outside with your friends and family. Doesn’t get much better than that. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a late afternoon of live music at Voyageur Brewing Company in Grand Marais\, MN.\nWhy Worry? is the musical duo of Bob and Glenda Niemiec. Both Glenda and Bob have been playing music since childhood. Bob started out taking music lessons and playing the accordion when he was 10. At 13\, Bob traded his accordion for a bass guitar and began his journey into rock and roll. He then moved on to acoustic guitar\, which he’s been playing ever since. Bob plays guitar (acoustic\, 12-string\, and electric)\, bass\, banjo\, mandolin\, accordion\, keyboards\, harmonica and percussion. \nGlenda started her musical journey at 9\, taking lessons and playing the piano. She moved on to flute and played in the marching and concert bands at Auburn (AL) H.S. She took a long hiatus from playing music until joining in with Bob to form Why Worry?. She plays flute\, piccolo\, tin whistles\, melodica\, keyboards and percussion. Both Glenda and Bob share the vocal duties in the group. \nWhy Worry? performs several shows each year sharing their renditions of popular music\, classic country\, light rock\, folk\, Americana and original compositions. They are known for their crisp harmonies and creative instrumentation and arrangements.
