From 7pm-10pm you can listen to the sounds of Harbor Drive Hookup. \nAmie Theis- Vocals/Guitar\nJon Theis- Vocals/Guitar/Banjo/Mandolin/Harmonica\nHarbor Drive Hookup is a 2 piece act that sings old country tunes\, originals\, and contemporary tunes in a similar style. Our originals could be considered Americana with influences of rockabilly\, country\, blues and jazz. Picture something along the lines of Johnny Cash mixed with Patsy Cline\, early Elvis and Hank Williams. \nWe can play anything from Corporate Events\, Bars\, Fundraisers\, to Cocktail hours at Weddings\, Benefits\, Nursing Homes\, and more. We can even play your private party at your home or vacation property\, or even the halftime show at the Roller Derby. \nWe are currently working on writing and recording our demo as we reside in St Cloud\, MN. though we met\, got engaged\, and later married in Duluth\, MN. We also plan to someday move up to the area. \nWe chose our name because we got engaged by the buoy that sits in between Harbor Dr and Lake Superior behind the DECC\, which is also the spot where we first started to fall for each other while discussing the finer points of riding icebergs.\nThe rest is\, as they say\, history.

DESCRIPTION:Enjoy craft beer and live music at Voyageur Brewing Company in Grand Marais\, Minnesota.\n\nGene and Amy have been writing and performing together since 2012 and moved to the North Shore of Lake Superior in August of 2014 Their emphasis is on acoustic style duet performances of their original songs as well as unique renditions of some of their favorite artists from Dylan to dirt old country. \nGene LaFond has been writing and performing for over 50 years.\nHe has opened for Bob Dylan and has performed original songs twice\, with his pal the late Larry Kegan\, at Neil Young’s Bridge School Benefit Concert (a songwriter showcase put on in San Francisco by Neil for nearly 30\,000 fans to raise money for the Bridge School for Disabled Children).\nGene has played numerous venues throughout the years in the Twin Cities as well as a dozen or more times with renowned violinist Scarlet Rivera. Gene has also performed and traveled with legendary folk musician Ramblin Jack Elliott. \nFormer cowgirl and junk artist Amy Grillo began singing around the campfires and in the bars and music venues of Minnesota’s Iron Range. Her ear for harmony and a good story are what give her songs a unique\, earthy and relatable feel. Her sweet harmonies and lyrical talent are a perfect compliment to Gene’s vocal and guitar picking style.

DESCRIPTION: Join us at Voyageur Brewing Company in Grand Marais\, Minnesota for some live music in our taproom.\nIan Alexy is a guitarist\, singer\, songwriter and producer based in Minneapolis.  He is known as both a solo artist and as a member of americana duo Hobo Nephews of Uncle Frank.   Alexy is a versatile guitarist and songwriter with a style is deeply rooted in American folk\, jazz and rock n roll.\nBorn in Philadelphia and raised in New Jersey\, Ian began playing music in earnest at the age of twelve when he convinced his father to buy him an electric guitar.  With his musical imagination fueled by Guns N Roses and his fathers Neil Young records\, Ian took to the instrument immediately and formed the first of several garage bands with neighborhood friends.  He cites Neil Young as his primary musical influence. \nAfter high school Ian moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music.  After a year of studying in the structured environment of Berklee\, he relocated to Vermont to finish school at the liberal art mecca Goddard College.  Here Ian furthered his interest in literature\, particularly the Beat writers Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg\, and began developing his unique songwriting style.  Perhaps it was also from the beats that he adopted a sense of wanderlust which led him to study guitar and drumming in West Africa. \nOnce school was finished Ian moved to Burlington Vermont and quickly set about making a living as a musician.  He was simultaneously performing as a solo singer songwriter and with a funk/rock sextet that saw opening spots in large venues for jazz luminaries such as Maceo Parker and John Scofield.  He was hailed by Burlington’s Seven Days newspaper as one of the area’s best guitarists and songwriters.  While in Burlington Ian recorded his first solo record\, “Rootedness” with producer and bluegrass veteran Adam Frehm.  Rootedness displays the height of Alexy’s interest in jazz and West African music in a solo acoustic format. \nWhile visiting his brother Teague Alexy in Duluth Minnesota Ian fell in love with the northern Minnesota folk/indie rock music scene and relocated to the area.  Around this time Ian and his brother Teague Alexy formed their long lasting\, hard touring Americana duo Hobo Nephews Of Uncle Frank.  The group has performed all over the United States and recorded four full length records with a fifth on the way.  They have collaborated and performed with Trampled By Turtles\, Marco Benevento and Ryan Adam/ WIllie Nelson pedal steel player Jon Graboff.  Their forthcoming record is being produced by Ryan Young of Trampled By Turtles. \nIan has been hard at work on his solo material as well\, recording three full length records and one EP\, including his latest Born On The Day Of The Dead.  Born On The Day Of The Dead is a soulful meditation on the spiritual origins of it’s creator.  He recently formed Ian Alexy and The Deserters with whom he will be recording his next record.  The Deserters are a rock quartet in the style of The Pretenders and Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers.  However like everything else he does\, this band has Ian Alexy’s distict stamp.

Gene has also performed and traveled with legendary folk musician Ramblin Jack Elliott. \nFormer cowgirl and junk artist Amy Grillo began singing around the campfires and in the bars and music venues of Minnesota’s Iron Range. Her ear for harmony and a good story are what give her songs a unique\, earthy and relatable feel. Her sweet harmonies and lyrical talent are a perfect compliment to Gene’s vocal and guitar picking style.
