Live Music in the Taproom by Chris Koza

November 24, 2018 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Voyageur Brewing Company Presents Chris Koza on Saturday, November 24th from 4-7pm in the taproom.

Chris Koza is a songwriter/musician living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the climate, the mighty Mississippi River and the balance of city and rural communities offer continued inspiration.

As a performer, Koza and his band Rogue Valley have toured the US, and also performed in Iceland and the UK, also supporting nationally renowned artists such as Ingrid Michaelson, Brandi Carlile, The Jayhawks, Stephen Kellogg, Martha Wainwright, and Dan Wilson. Koza’s music appears in film and TV shows, including Fox’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, A&E’s Bates Motel, ABC’s General Hospital, and MTV’s Jersey Shore.

Koza spearheads music-related residencies in communities all across Minnesota, largely through the support of the Minnesota State Arts Board. These residencies connect musicians, educators, students and community members through workshops and performances. Koza and Rogue Valley have completed residencies in several cities, including Dawson-Boyd, Grand Rapids, Detroit Lakes, International Falls, and in the Metro area, at Hopkins and Washburn High Schools.

Since 2004, when Koza began performing, producing and releasing his own music, he and Rogue Valley have released over a dozen albums firmly rooted in Americana music, with influences drawing from folk, acoustic, classic rock, and experimental electronic-pop. Currently, Koza is recording new work targeting a 2019 release.
